Documentation
& Publication Division
Information plays a critical role in the success of a business
in today’s knowledge-based economy. Information holds
such importance for the growth of an SME as balanced diet
holds for healthy growth of human body. As SMEs lack R &
D facilities, they need quality, up-to-date and timely information
about market situations and opportunities, new technologies,
industrial and commercial processes, legislation and support
schemes for their very survival and sustained growth.
Now-a-days the business environment has become extremely
variable and volatile. In view of this, information is seen
as a strategic weapon for managers to take appropriate decision
in time to cope up with the challenges such as uncertainty,
rapid technological change, widespread price wars, seemingly
endless reorganisation, etc. It is only through the use
of information, business entities are able to adapt themselves
to the environmental changes to survive and prosper.
WASME believes that information has the power to bring about
change and, hence, is an essential tool in the growth for
SMEs. It can help build awareness, remove biases, and even
bring organisations and institutions working for SMEs together
on a common platform. Therefore, it has become crucial for
organisation like WASME to ensure that SMEs can quickly
and easily acquire the required information.
This is the reason behind setting up of Documentation &
Publication Division that disseminates relevant SMEs development-related
information to SME leaders across the World on a need basis
as a non-financial support.
